Definitely the hottest young singer today, Taylor Swift has swept away the hearts of everyone with her gorgeous looks and soulful voice. She was the biggest selling artist of 2008 in America, with combined sales of her albums reaching more than four million.

Born in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, the 19-year-old American country-pop singer/songwriter began writing songs and playing guitar when she was twelve. She was also a member of SNL-inspired kid's sketch comedy group, TheatreKids Live!, where she showcased her natural comedic talent.

Hot and sexy Taylor's first single, "Tim McGraw" was released in 2006, reaching #6 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs. Her self-titled debut album peaked at #1 on Billboard Top Country Albums for eight consecutive weeks and remained at the top for 24 out of 91 weeks, putting her side by side with The Dixie Chicks and Carrie Underwood. The album also reached #5 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

The hot and sexy singer's latest studio album, Fearless, debuted at #1 on the charts and its sales was the highest debut of any country artists in 2008. This was also the largest opening U.S. sales week in 2008 by a female artist in all genres of music. In its debut week, seven songs in total on Fearless were charted on Billboard Hot 100.

People can't seem to get enough of this Grammy-nominated artist. Taylor has even surpassed the 200 million mark for music streams on MySpace and was the most searched musical artist in 2008. She is currently ranked in the Top 10 for the most MySpace visits for all genres of music, and is the current top-ranking Country artist.

12,000 mile voyage on a 60 foot catamaran made of 12,000 plastic bottles

Famous eco-adventurer, enviromentalist, banking fortune heir, British environmentalist, David de Rothschild, also known once for having dated Cameron Diaz, is out to prove to the world, that garbage can be recycled into something useful. He is doing this by assembling 12000 plastic bottles and engineering them into a sailboat. Now, he is set to sail in the summer of 2009 on a 12,000 mile journey from San Francisco to Australia.

David de Rothschild was once linked with Cameron Diaz in 2007 when they were seen dating and going out. He is founder of Adventure Ecology, a company which aims to raise awareness of environmental issues. The project started in August 2006, when Rothschild had just returned from a trip to the Arctic and was looking for a new project.

His philosophy is simple - That everything starts from a simple question - Can it be done?

In this case, the question is "Can we build a boat made entirely out of plastic bottles?" It is this simple question that went from a dream in his head into the beginning of a new adventure.



While plastic bottles are cheap, the adventure will not be. A documentary crew will be accompanying the trip to film the adventure. One of the stop will be at the Eastern Pacific Garbage Patch, which is a wirling soup of plastic that is estimated to be twice the size of Texas.
